Settle in.
Stay comfortable.
ZERO-SPEED STABILIZATIONRoll does not stop when your boat does. Once the flywheel is up to operating speed, the GL5 can provide stabilization while the vessel is stationary.
- Stabilizing torque without forward boat speed
- More comfortable time dining, relaxing, or fishing
- The complete gyro mechanism stays inside the hull
Stabilization reduces roll; it does not eliminate every type of vessel motion.
Keep moving.
Keep enjoying.
TROLLING & LOW-SPEED CRUISINGGyroline is designed to provide stabilization at trolling and low cruising speeds, where comfort can make a real difference to the time you spend on board.
- Roll control while moving slowly through the water
- No external stabilizing fins for the gyro system
- System selection tailored to your boat and its use
Results depend on vessel characteristics, loading, sea conditions, and installation.

Build angular momentum
A flywheel spins inside the gyro. Its angular momentum is the foundation of the stabilizing force, without relying on water flowing over an external fin.
Turn movement into torque
As the boat rolls, the spinning assembly tilts about a second axis. This movement, called precession, produces a torque that opposes the roll.
Control the response
Gyroline’s mechanical control system manages the gyro’s movement. The unit works within the hull, keeping the stabilizing mechanism inside your vessel.

FAQs
Can a GL5 be fitted to an existing boat?
A retrofit may be possible. We need to review the hull structure, available space, access for bringing the unit aboard, power, cooling, and service clearances before confirming suitability.
Does it work when the boat is stopped?
Yes. A gyro uses a spinning flywheel to generate stabilizing torque, so it does not need forward boat speed. The flywheel must first reach its operating speed.
Is the GL5 right for every 35–48 ft boat?
No. That is Gyroline’s typical vessel-length range. Displacement, hull form, loading, operating conditions, and the installation all matter. Coastal assesses the complete vessel before recommending a system.
What power supply and maintenance will I need?
We confirm electrical demand, cooling requirements, startup time, and the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule for the exact GL5 configuration being supplied. These form part of your installation proposal and handover.
What should I send to get started?
Your boat’s make, model, year, length, and displacement are a useful start. Photos or drawings of the proposed machinery space help us assess the next steps.
